real good friend

This was the opening track on my first “real” album. Wherever this song has appeared, whether on HAHG or on a handful of compilation albums, this track and the one that follows have always been packaged as a single track, “Real Good Friend > Dumb.” It made sense at the time to serve them up as a single unit, but now I’m feeling saucy. Set them free I say!
This was the first track I brought to Scott for inclusion on what would become HAHG. (At least I think so; Scott will correct me.) I don’t have a great deal to say about it, I just heard the first line in my head and fleshed it out from there. You’d be surprised how many songs start out that way. I’ve got one great line, now all I need is a song to put it in. I’m very happy with this - the lyrics are absolute S-tier, and it doesn’t overstay its welcome.
I just got laid
I wasn’t really sure if I was gonna like it but I did
Seemed kinda weird
Gettin’ all naked with a girl but I take it that’s a part of it
She’s a real good friend, now she’s a lover
We’re not in love, but I love her like a brother
But me and my brother never did with one another what she and I did
I just got laid
I wasn’t really sure if I was gonna like it but I did
